![]() ![]() Why should 3.5 be so consistently inferior when I would have thought the DVD Best Quality 90 Min setting would be the same in both? I even tried setting the Resize filter to Best but no difference, still flickering in 3.5.Īny ideas as to why DVD Best Quality 90 mins in Compressor 3.0.5 and 3.5.3 are different? As an experiment, I have taken the exact same video into both 3 and 3.5 many times then to Toast for DVD burn.I have done these tests in both AIC and ProRes 422. The difference in output to DVD is huge horizontal objects flicker to distraction. I have experimented with Compressor 3.5 and with identical settings that I used in 3.0 for DVD Best Quality 90 mins. Very recently I bought FC Studio 3 with the thought of selling FC Studio 2. No flickering of horizontal objects and overall quality better than expected bearing in mind going from HDV to Standard definition. Frame controls set to ON (Automatic) and the results were extremely good. I bought FC Studio 2 a short time ago and used Compressor 3 (DVD Best Quality 90 mins 6.2/7.7 ), to produce DVD’s via Toast. This flickering can sometimes be very distracting when viewing the DVD. The main problem has been the flickering produced by horizontal objects (window frames, steps etc) when the camera moves, even only slightly. ![]() Whilst DV material seems to be handled well in iDVD, HDV (AIC) does not. My mission over the last year or so has been to produce good quality DVD’s from my consumer HDV camcorder. ![]()
